Biography

Elizabeth Andes-Bell and her husband, Bruce Bell are the founders and creative directors of Namaste Yoga Center in New York City. They are yogis, energy therapists and spiritual teachers who have collaborated for many years. They began their collaboration as choreographers and dancers exploring how energy moves through and shapes forms in nature.

They received formal training in energy healing at the Barbara Brennan School of Healing, a four year intensive study of chakras, the human energy field and somatic/energetic psychology. After graduation, they taught at the school for seven years. They trained students and teachers in energetic anatomy and the evolution of cellular consciousness. As founding department heads of the school's Dept. of Creativity, they developed a curriculum exploring the relationship of healing and creativity. They also created a body of sacred ceremonies with an eucumenical group of shamans for 400+ students and faculty.
Elizabeth and Bruce completed their healership training at the Center for Intentional Living's program in developmental and depth psychology with an emphasis in transpersonal studies.
Over the years, they have studied many styles of yoga such as hatha, vinyasa, ashtanga and iyengar. They are especially grateful to their teachers Emilee Conrad of Continuum, Nevine Michaan of Katonah Yoga, Barbara Brennan, Calvin Holt and, last but certainly not least, Sri Aurobindo and The Mother.
